The perfect build starts with a consultation with one of our team. We can help and advise you on planning your space, where we’ll discuss with you factors such as room function, materials, access to the site and budget. From there, we’ll pass you over to our in-house design team, who are there to ensure you have total oversight of your project and can envision what it will look like before building gets underway. They’ll make sure your project is delivered on time and within budget, and to the highest standard.

Our domestic building services

At SCL Construction, we know just how daunting it can be to undertake a home renovation or extension. Our domestic clients are very different to our commercial clients. To start with, the project they’re embarking on is not just a building, it is their home, and it represents everything they’ve worked for, it holds the dearest of memories with their families and it is also their future. It’s a nerve-wracking time, especially as building work can be intrusive and expensive and the client wants the work to be perfect.

That’s why we’re the people for the job – we’re understanding in our work. Your house isn’t just a building site to us, it’s your home and a place to be respected, and we know how much this kind of work means to our clients. There’s no better feeling that seeing the excitement, relief and appreciation on our clients’ faces when they walk into their newly finished home which we complete in good time and to the best standard. Our speciality – Passivhaus

Passivhaus – or passive house – is a German standard for building construction. Passivhaus is a rigorous, voluntary standard for energy efficiency in a building, which reduces the building’s ecological footprint. It results in ultra-low energy buildings that require little energy for space heating or cooling. Instead, heat is obtained from the sun, the people within, appliances and extracted air. With a comfortable heating throughout without traditional heating systems, Passivhaus is ideal for most modern building designs.

Most building companies are traditional and don’t know where to start when it comes to Passivhaus, but at SCL Construction, we have our own specialist team which includes a certified Passivhaus tradesperson who can help your property achieve the gold standard for energy efficiency. We can cater for both domestic properties and commercial properties.
